About RHO

The Reproductive Health Outlook (RHO) website provides up-to-date summaries of research findings, program experience, and clinical guidelines related to key reproductive health topics, as well as analyses of  policy and program implications. An important objective of RHO is to help users link with quality online resources and collaborate with colleagues around the world.

RHO is published by PATH. It follows the World Health Organization (WHO) definition of reproductive health, as defined at the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo. Like its companion print publication, Outlook, RHO presents key research findings and program information related to a variety of reproductive health issues.

The RHO editors, Advisory Board, and staff ensure that the information included in RHO is accurate and current, and that the programmatic implications are appropriate. Whenever possible, the conclusions from evidence-based analyses will be included as described in WHO's Reproductive Health Library.

RHO was created through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

In addition, development of the Men and Reproductive Health section was supported through a small grant from the Men and Reproductive Health Subcommittee of the U.S. Agency for International Development's Interagency Gender Working Group. The Adolescent Reproductive Health section was developed through support from FOCUS on Young Adults ( Portions of the Safe Motherhood section were supported by the USAID-supported Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH) program.

User evaluation

In an effort to ensure that RHO continues to be approrpiate and responsive to the needs of its audience, we conducted user surveys in 1997 and 2003 and incorporated the feedback received into content updates and additions, as well as a site redesign in 2004.

Click here to download a PDF (295 KB) of "Outlook and RHO Report on Evaluation Activities in 2003," an extensive report on the results of the 2003 RHO survey and on reader evaluations—including a survey, focus group discussions, and key-informant interviews—of Outlook, PATH's quarterly print publication on reproductive health issues.

We greatly appreciate the input from our survey respondents! We welcome questions, comments, and suggestions at any time. Please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
