APEC Cervical Cancer Resources

Welcome to PATH's RHO Cervical Cancer Library. The library has been updated and expanded in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Cervical Cancer Initiative to provide additional information to support APEC government officials, policymakers, civil society, and private sector organizations as they improve cervical cancer programs in their countries.

About APEC and the Cervical Cancer Initiative

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a multilateral organization that supports sustainable economic prosperity among its 21 member economies: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, United States and Vietnam.

APEC promotes Healthy Women, Healthy Economies—because enhancing women's economic participation improves women's health and vice versa.

The APEC Cervical Cancer Initiative was started in 2014 by the US National Cancer Institute and the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The initiative has since engaged diverse APEC partners including the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásticas in Peru and the Ministry of Health in Vietnam along with diverse partners from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, El Salvador, Malaysia, Peru, the United States, and Vietnam.

The APEC Roadmap to Promote Sustainable Economic Advancement for Women through Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control (2024-2021) is a guiding document which was approved by the APEC Health Working Group in early 2017. One key goal within the Roadmap is to enhance the ability of APEC economies to access evidence-based knowledge and best practices.

The APEC Cervical Cancer Initiative is proud to partner with PATH on this important goal. The RHO Cervical Cancer website has provided a highly-vetted, rich library of resources since 2007.
